Summers is thec best time to here, but, you can visit in Feb as well. Very well maintained national park and some breathtaking views of Loch Lohmond.
Awesome place to visit, come after 10 and the wee cafe on the Loch do you a tasty bacon roll or if youre mad like me an ice cream or why not try our famous Scottish square sausage, save some of your roll and feed the ducks and swans or geese, if you want a real treat come as dawn breaks and see the deer, but be quiet or you will scare them, usually around 7am and you can watch the sea plane take off from the other shore in the summer.

Absolutely beautiful scenery! The gardens are well kept and clean. There are 2 mini parks for the kids. (One was closed for maintenance). There were toilets that were nice and clean. If you are in the area its definitely worth a visit. True beauty of Scotland!
The shore trail is a real beauty. Finding the wooden sculptures might take a while to find since they're mostly scattered around (especially the dragon one). Only problem was the castle was quite disappointing, mostly because its closed during winter time. Would recommend traveling and finding the sculptures.
